november basics

This week has gone by fast! I just returned from visiting North Carolina for the first time. This was a nice way to wrap up the month. You can check out why I was there, where I stayed, and what I did. Oh yeah, your favorite CDO is now on TikTok. You can follow me here

It’s also a new month which means it’s a new theme! October’s theme was center. Can you guess November’s theme? If you guessed gratitude, then you’re wrong. While most folks on social media will honor the month with daily gratitude posts, I am choosing to focus on dignity for this month’s theme.

November also means it’s Native American Heritage Month. You can honor the month by finding out which native land you occupy, supporting movements like LANDBACK and/or paying voluntary land taxes.

Last but not least, remember to vote on Nov. 8. If you or someone you know has a disability, there are resources to help you/them access the polls.

  1. Decide on who needs to attend the meeting.

  2. Create a collaborative agenda.

  3. Decide on what info should be reviewed prior to the meeting.

  4. Outline the goal(s) of the meeting.

  5. Be accessible.

  6. Check-in.

  7. Review rules of engagement.

  8. Be conscious of who is speaking.

  9. Aim for consensus building.  

  10. Thank everyone for their contributions.
